CORV Guide Ad: To Start, look out for our ad in the CORV Local Food Guide (Central Ohio River Valley) which will be released this week in the Earth Day Edition of CityBeat. It will also be at Farmer’s Markets throughout the coming year. If you mention the ad we will offer a 10% discount off the course price
Earthday 2012 Celebration: Saturday April 21st Sawyer Point Park 12pm-5pm We will be hosting a booth at Cincinnati’s Earthday Celebration. We will have our Edible Perennials for sale along with educational exhibits to raise awareness about Permaculture here in the Ohio River Valley.
This-Land’s Edible Perennial Nursery: We are pleased to share that the Nursery continues to grow in 2012 with the addition of 10 more varieties of plants. We have been selling at Northside’s Farmer’s Market every Wednesday. We plan on being there through early June. Our line up includes Fruit and Nut Trees along with Berry Bushes, Perennial Greens and many support plants. Our selections range from the obscure to the mundane. All profits go to support This-Land and its mission of a Regenerative Ohio Valley, Midwest and of course Planet.
Natural Building Lecture and Workshop with Ted Elsasser: May 4th-13th We are pleased to bring in one of the Top Sustainable Builders in the World for an Evening lecture and 10 day Hands on workshop constructing a small Passive solar Earthbag and Rammed Earth Tire Greenhouse. It will incorporate Adobe and Recycled Windows and Doors donated by Northside’s Building Value.
Cob Oven Construction Workshop: Saturday May 19th & June 2nd Suellyn Schupe and Braden Trauth will be working with Permaganic and Children’s Hunger Alliance to construct a small Cob Oven at the Permaganic Permaculture Gardens in Urban Over the Rhine. It will be a 2 day workshop where students will learn how to make adobe and create a Cob Oven, one of the oldest ways of baking. To register please Contact Wade At Info@this-land.org
Summer Residential Permaculture Design Certification: July 16th-July 29th This is shaping up to be our best PDC yet. It will be an Urban and Rural training hosted by Doug Crouch of TreeYo Permaculture and Braden Trauth of OM Valley Permaculture along with our traditional crew of support teachers. It will be hosted for 5 days in the City of Cincinnati where you will get hands on experience of applying Permaculture to an Urban Environ, followed up by 7.5 tranquil days of Rural application at Grailville Retreat Center where the students will finish up the course and their design work. You will be visiting some of the Midwests and Eastern US’s Oldest and most Established Permaculture sites.
