Cob Oven Basics with Suellyn Shupe May 19th & June 2nd
May 19th & June 2nd
Cob ovens can be a center pice for any Permaculture social spot or just simply a nice edition to your backyard. The pizza’s that come out are delightful and the gatherings that happen around them are always a good time. Cob is an aged old tradition used to create thermal mass in the oven with its thick earthen walls. This thermal mass re-radiates heat once the fire is out and allows for continuous cooking for hours and even dehydrating overnight. The course will be held two days over two weekends at Permaganic’s Urban Permaculture Gardens in Over the Rhine, the Urban Core of Cincinnati. The course will focus on designing and building a Cob Oven with Permaculture Instructors and Cob Oven Builders, Suellyn Shupe and Braden Trauth. This is being hosted in conjunction with Permaganic and Children’s Hunger Alliance as we continue to increase our non-profit network.
Dates: May 19th & June 2nd
